The Polish Economic Chamber of Renewable Energy (PIGEO) was established on 12th October 2004. The Chamber is an economic self-government organisation, formed on the strength of the Act on Economic Chambers dated 30th May 1989 and brings together companies which expressed their will to co-operate in the development of renewable energy sources (RES).
Objectives of the Chamber
- Integration of businessmen, institutions and persons acting for the development of renewable energy sources in Poland, representation of members and strengthening of their position and competitiveness on the local and foreign markets;
- Influence on law regulations relating to the RES market, monitoring of implementation and intervening in cases when they are not observed;
- Increase and facilitation of access for investors to financial sources for RES enterprises, especially from EU structural funds and Polish aid funds;
- Promotion of the Polish RES industry on the Polish and foreign markets;
- Creation of a friendly climate around renewable power engineering among the public opinion and national and local government authorities;
- Propagation of knowledge among members of the Chamber and local government authorities on investment needs and possibilities, methods of managing investments and benefits arising from RES;
- Influence on coordination and coherence of sector policies (economy, power engineering, agriculture and rural development, protection of the environment) in the scope of creation of the RES market.
All interested are cordially invited to cooperate with the Chamber, while all businessmen working in the renewable energy source branch are invited to join the Polish Economic Chamber of Renewable Energy.
